Dental Care Without the Anxiety
Whether you need one procedure or several, our goal is the same: comfortable, stress-free dentistry in an environment built around your well-being.

Fully Asleep During Treatment
This is not light sedation. This is not "taking the edge off." Under general anesthesia, you are completely asleep during treatment—unaware, comfortable, and pain-free from start to finish.
Dedicated Anesthesia Provider
Dr. Desyatnikov's sole responsibility during your procedure is administering and monitoring your anesthesia. That means you have two providers focused entirely on your care—one on your treatment, one on you.

Available for Any Dental Procedure
Unlike many practices that limit sedation to specific treatments, we can provide general anesthesia for virtually any procedure, including implants, extractions, bone grafting, root canals, and full mouth rehabilitation.
Ideal for Patients with Dental Anxiety
If you've been avoiding the dentist due to fear, past trauma, or the need for extensive treatment, deep sleep dentistry allows you to receive comprehensive care in a single visit—without the stress.

Why Our Sedation Experience Is Different
Your Dentist Should Focus on Your Smile. Your Anesthesia Provider Should Focus on You.
Most dental offices that advertise IV sedation have the dentist performing the procedure and monitoring the patient's sedation at the same time.
We believe your dentist should focus entirely on your treatment.
That's why Dr. Desyatnikov serves as a dedicated anesthesia provider whose only responsibility during your procedure is administering and monitoring your sedation. While he focuses on your safety and comfort, Dr. Vazquez can focus completely on delivering exceptional care.
The benefits of this team-based approach:

Why Patients Choose Radiant Smiles Dental & Implant Center
Our practice was designed around patient comfort from the ground up—not as an afterthought. Private treatment suites, a serene recovery space, and a team that takes your anxiety seriously set us apart from practices that simply offer sedation as an add-on.
As Dr. Vazquez explains: "Whether it's a complex procedure or high anxiety, the goal is always the same: a pain-free experience. That might mean oral sedation or full anesthesia—whatever ensures your comfort."
Your Deep Sleep Dentistry Experience
Comprehensive Consultation
During your consultation, Dr. Vazquez will review your medical history, discuss your concerns, and determine which sedation approach is most appropriate for your health and treatment needs. You'll receive a clear explanation of the process, what to expect on the day of your procedure, and detailed pre-appointment instructions.
This conversation happens privately, with all the time you need to ask questions and feel fully prepared.
Pre-Anesthesia Appointment
Before your procedure date, our team will collect your complete medical history, confirm any necessary medical clearances from your other providers, and conduct a thorough health workup. This information will then be provided to Dr. Desyatnikov for review prior to your procedure, ensuring your anesthesia plan is carefully tailored to your individual needs.
Your Procedure Day
On the day of your procedure, Dr. Desyatnikov meets with you, takes your vitals, and administers anesthesia so you're fully asleep before treatment begins. Dr. Vazquez performs your dental work while Dr. Desyatnikov monitors your anesthesia continuously throughout.
When the procedure is complete and you're awake, you'll be transferred to a private recovery suite where our team provides attentive after-care while the effects of anesthesia wear off.
Comfortable Recovery
You won't simply be sent home. You'll recover in a low-light, private suite designed specifically for post-sedation relaxation. We provide smoothies while you rest, fill your prescriptions during your procedure so you have everything you need, and send you home with a complete after-care kit including detailed recovery instructions.
Plan to rest for the remainder of the day. A responsible adult will need to drive you home and stay with you for several hours after your appointment. Most patients return to normal activities the following day.
Frequently Asked Questions
What if I haven't been to the dentist in years because of fear?
This is exactly the situation deep sleep dentistry is designed for. Many of our patients hadn't seen a dentist in years—sometimes decades—before coming to us. We'll evaluate your oral health, prioritize what needs to be addressed first, and create a treatment plan that gets you where you need to be, comfortably and without judgment.
Is general anesthesia safe for dental procedures?
Yes, when administered by a qualified anesthesia provider with proper monitoring. Dr. Desyatnikov is a board-certified anesthesiologist with experience in Level 1 trauma centers and outpatient surgery settings. Your vital signs are monitored continuously throughout your procedure using advanced equipment.
What's the difference between general anesthesia and IV sedation?
IV sedation can range from light to deep relaxation, and in many dental offices the dentist is managing both the sedation and the procedure simultaneously. General anesthesia renders you completely unconscious and is administered and monitored by a dedicated anesthesia provider whose only focus is your safety—while your dentist focuses entirely on your treatment.
Will I feel or remember anything?
No. Under general anesthesia, you are completely asleep and will have no awareness or memory of the procedure.
How long does anesthesia last after the procedure?
The effects typically begin wearing off within 1-2 hours after administration stops, though you'll need to rest for the remainder of the day. Most patients feel fully like themselves by the following morning. Dr. Desyatnikov adjusts your anesthesia throughout the procedure to support a smooth, comfortable recovery.
What procedures can be performed under general anesthesia?
Virtually any dental procedure—from a single extraction or implant to full mouth rehabilitation involving multiple treatments in one visit. If you're unsure whether general anesthesia is appropriate for your specific treatment, we'll discuss it thoroughly during your consultation.
Do I need a medical clearance before going under general anesthesia?
Depending on your health history, medical clearances may be required from your physician or other providers. Dr. Desyatnikov will review your complete health background at your pre-anesthesia appointment and let you know exactly what's needed before your procedure date.
Do I need someone to drive me home?
Yes. You must have a responsible adult drive you to and from your appointment and stay with you for several hours afterward. You cannot drive, operate machinery, or make important decisions for the remainder of the day.
Can I eat before my procedure?
For general anesthesia, you will need to fast from food and most beverages for a specified period beforehand. Exact fasting guidelines will be provided at your pre-anesthesia appointment with Dr. Desyatnikov.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
Follow all pre-procedure instructions regarding food, drink, and medications. Wear comfortable, loose clothing. Arrange for a responsible adult to drive you home and stay with you afterward. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment, and bring a list of any current medications.
Is sedation covered by insurance?
Coverage varies by plan. Many insurance providers cover sedation when it is medically necessary. Our team will review your benefits and help you understand what your plan covers. We're currently in-network with Delta Dental, and we offer flexible financing options for any out-of-pocket costs.
